Books for Living Green

Book with SproutsHere is a wonderful place to buy books about green living and at great prices. Green Living Books sells slightly damaged books, called “hurts”, from Chelsea Green Publishing-one of the top publishers of books on sustainable living. What Chelsea Green considers a ‘hurt’ book is more than likely nothing more than a scratch on the cover or perhaps a bent corner, but almost all of the books that Green Living Books sells are new.

You can buy their books on Amazon, or you can buy directly through Green Living Books and get a better deal on shipping and a 30 day money back guarantee that you will like the book. On their web site there is a list of Select Offers and you can choose books from this list, but you can also browse the Chelsea Green web site and then email Green Living Books to see if they have what you want.

Here is a partial list of categories that Chelsea Green’s books cover:

Socially Responsible Business

Food and Health

Green Building

Chelsea Green Kids

Renewable Energy

and Politics and Social Justice

I recently ordered Ray Anderson’s book through Amazon but it was actually from Green Living Books. When I went to their web site I loved that it was a small business selling what the publisher had to get rid of, since it was slightly damaged…I can’t see anything wrong with the book that I received. The owner is a writer and had started the environmental quarterly Green Living in 1990 and was its editor/publisher until he sold it in 2005.

There is so much excellent reading material out there for guidance and inspiration on sustainable living, here is a way to tap into that, save money and support a small business.
